A Caberdouche was a bar with a questionable reputation in the working-class districts of old Brussels. Its name comes from the Spanish expression "Cabe una dulce", literally "here is a sweet". These bars were large enough to accommodate ladies of pleasure and over the centuries its meaning gradually evolved to mean a Brussels cabaret or small café.
